Speakers International Welcomes Marie Lewis

Marie D. Lewis is new to Speakers International‘s group of outstanding professionals, but she is far from new to the speaking profession. She has delivered her motivational presentations and management development corporate training  far and wide for more than 25 years. Her new focus is on programming for teens and young adults including social etiquette and personal development leading to success in the work world.

Marie is based in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina. She will host your teen group for customized seminars for a day or a two-week summer session or will travel to your destination to present a model for success.

Travel Writers to Speak at Sunset River Marketplace

Sunset River Marketplace art gallery in Calabash, NC continues its Fall schedule of Coffee With the Authors events on Oct. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m.  with travel writers Charlie and Liz Mitchell. The husband and wife team, who have lived in Myrtle Beach since 1992, will speak about the art of travel writing. They will sign books and discuss secrets they learned during research for their two recent books: Myrtle Beach: A Guide to South Carolina’s Grand Strand and Hilton Head: A Guide to the South Carolina Lowcountry, both of which are part of the Tourist Town guidebook series.

The couple will also discuss writing for an online media outlet.  They publish tales of travel adventures and recommendations on their own blog, International Show and Tell which includes Humanity, Community, Marvels and Milestones of special interest to them.

Liz writes the Brunswick Vacation Planning blog and several others that  highlight coastal happenings enticing visitors to the magical beauty of small towns and friendly people. Charlie co-authored three editions of Insiders Guide to Golf in the Carolinas reviewing all major golf courses and related destinations along the coastal area of North and South Carolina.

The Mitchells also will also be showcasing their new mobile travel apps for iPhone,  iPad and iPod touch (and coming soon to new platforms). The apps,  Myrtle Beach’s Best and Hilton Head Essentials, include hundreds of reviews and original photographs of area attractions, golf, restaurants, shopping, hotels and more.

Their real business, when they are not writing and photographing for their personal fun projects, is marketing and booking professional speakers and entertainers including training and coaching programs anywhere in the world, plus event planning and management.

Sunset River Marketplace showcases work by approximately 200 North and South Carolina artists and houses some 10,000 square feet of oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, mixed media, art glass, pottery, sculpture, turned and carved wood and artisan-created jewelry. There are two onsite kilns used by students in the ongoing pottery classes offered by the gallery. A custom framing department is available. There are also classes in oil painting, watercolor, pastel and figure drawing.

Ken Wallace Featured in New Film

Ken Wallace is featured as one of the experts in a new personal development movie starring Jack Canfield, John Gray and Marci Shimoff.

Keeper of the Keys is sure to raise the bar on the self-help movie genre, according to Robin Jay of the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau (LVCSB) who terms it “the most cinematic, dramatic, well-produced self-help movie that has ever been produced.” The red carpet premier is scheduled for December 8 in Las Vegas. Watch for the DVD available for pre-order here soon.

The movie follows the character Michael Walden – a creative director – on an incredible journey of discovery. Michael has become quite a victim. First, he lost his job after more than 14 years of loyal, hard work. Then, his house ends up in foreclosure. He grows increasingly negative, understandably. When his fiancée breaks up with him, he starts to reflect on all the times he’s reacted negatively to life itself. He realizes he needs help – and begins a magical journey where he encounters some of the most incredible experts who share their deeply personal stories of adversity and growth.

Saving African Orphans

Getrude Matshe is a motivational and inspirational speaker, an African storyteller, a poet, artist, author and an all-round amazing woman. She founded the Africa Alive Foundation in a quest to help support schools, feeding programs and community building projects for children in Zimbabwe where 17 million orphans of AIDS families are in desperate need.

It is our pleasure to introduce her and to arrange her program for your organization at any location. Her exciting presentations range from storytelling to cooking an African dinner to  teaching the art of batik. She also conducts a workshop on how to write a book in 40 hours.
