Registration is open for the Tate/Coursen Memorial Walk/Run scheduled for January 7 in Beaufort, SC. Walkers, runners and sponsors are welcome to participate. The event will be at Beaufort Academy on Lady’s Island from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Almost 10 years ago LCpl Dana L. Tate and his partner Cpl Dyke “AJ” Coursen were killed in the line of duty when they responded to a domestic disturbance call. The walk/run is a celebration of their lives and in honor of their sacrifice as participants walk or run the track in 10 laps (5K) with each lap to commemorate a year since their death. Funds raised from this event will benefit Citizens of Domestic Abuse (CODA), the local charity that provides shelter and assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Sponsorship levels begin at $100; entry fees begin at $20, and all monetary or goods or services donations are appreciated. The Mitchell Group is pleased to assist with this event in support of our friend and colleague Marie Tate.
